 Dear Sam Burtis,

I emailed you this question recently, but I am unsure if I got the right email or not. So...

I am currently a freshman in high school, and I seem to be having some troubles with my higher register embouchure.
My lips after 3rd ledger G seems to roll in between my top and bottom teeth just a little.
I believe that I am playing with a "High placement" mouthpiece position.
I am afraid to continue to work on my range in fear that I will developed really bad habits that will be un-curable later on.
My lessons teacher does not know very much about embouchure and how to fix them.
May I ask for your help to maybe fix my embouchure?

Yes, Nick...I got your email.

As I said in my reply...unless you are in the NYC area or I am in Houston, there's not much that I can do. I have no immediate plans to be in Houston, although things can change at any time.

However, there are any number of good teachers in that area. I will call a friend later on today and see who he recommends.
